🎯 Objective of the Foundational Test (PAT)

The main aim of PAT is to evaluate whether each student has acquired the expected learning outcomes of the previous grade. Unlike board exams, this is a low-stress assessment that helps teachers identify and improve the teaching-learning process.

Key Purposes:

  1. Shift focus from evaluation of learning to evaluation for learning.
  2. Help track and improve student learning outcomes.
  3. Support effective teaching methods based on evidence.
  4. Help improve outcomes in National Achievement Surveys (NAS).
  5. Enable action plans for students lagging behind.
  6. Provide data on grade- and subject-wise learning progress.
